I stumbled across these designers on my search to find more menswear and I'm very happy I did! What a little gem! The Beautiful Ones are based in Costa Rica and Argentina, but I foresee America in the very near future. Sister and brother team Augustina and Lisandro Rodriguez have created a dinstinctively refreshing line of clothing. The mere fact that they are heavily influenced by some great music which they incorporate into their line is appealing in itself. What I like is the clothing is just young enough for us 30somethings to don, but the icons are old enough for us to appreciate. Coolness without pretention.
Who are the Beautiful Ones and how did this collective become a reality?
My brother Lisandro and i are the ones who made this a reality, The Beautiful Ones are all the people who visit and enjoy our store.
Your clothing are refreshingly hip, what was your intention with this latest collection?
Our intention is always the same, clothes for young people, freeminded, music lovers, artists, who want to be good looking, elegant but not structured.
You are quite influenced by music and it shows in the clothes, do you feel this will always be relevant and who do you love most in music these days?

How do you feel your clothes come across internationally within the fashion industry? Do you feel that you can market to many different countries at this time?
I think people from foreign countries like our clothes very much. We've had lots of mail asking us to send clothes to NYC, Berlin or Mexico, but still nothing has been done... right now i am planning on succeding in my country, but i am not leaving out the idea of someday selling my designs abroad.
What has been your favorite piece of clothing to design? What is your favorite piece of clothing to wear?
My favorite to design are t shirts. My favorite to wear is the trench coat.
It's very nice to see designers doing menswear in their collections...Do you find it difficult doing both menswear and womenswear?
No, i always prefered men, perhaps because there isnt so many men brands. Now i am starting with the womenswear, i find it more difficult because there are so many things!!!
Is it hard being brother and sister working together? No, of course we have our arguments, but at least we are brother and sister and we play on the same team. The keu is having separate activities and not to mix that.
What are you currently working on?
I'm working on the Winter collection.
What do you feel is missing in fashion at this time?
Name one thing that describes your designs. I think what is missing is good clothes with good prices here in Argentina.
Who do you most want to see wearing your clothes and where do you see yourself as a designer in five years?
I would like to see Jarvis Cocker, or Alex Turner! I hope in five years i can grow with the brand in all aspects, product, price, times, image...
