You know how there are some people in this world that are just good? They are the type of people that push old laides out of the way of moving cars and make sure you get the correct change. Well, Colette Lee Morales is one of those individuals. Her organization Unite in Fashion is a charitable organization that helps with not just one particular cause, but many. Colette is probably one of the hardest working people I know and she does it out fo the goodness of her heart.

Colette was so kind to offer her services at the Anti-Mag in the SugarShack showcase and she did a beautiful job on our burlesque dancers. She can create wild stylings and she can also make you look perfectly poised in a headshot. Colette just brings positivity and smiles wherever she goes and it shows in the greatness of her work. You just want to feed off her energy and bask in her talents. She's just a ray of light and can always bring a creative concept to any setting. I just adore this pretty lady and I'm pleased to tell you about Colette and her work with Unite in Fashion.

How was it that you became involved doing hair and makeup?
I have always loved styling hair , for as long as I can remember. I was cutting the hair off my barbie dolls at age 6. I started working at a salon when i was 15, and knew that it was meant to be for my career.

Who do you style the most? Who do you enjoy styling?
I dont have a preference as far as whom, I judt truly enjoy the diversity and the change from client to client.

Didn't you recently open a salon or something of this nature? Tell us about it.
I recently began working at Who Does Your Hair salon In Bellmore, Long Island. I adore the staff and the vibe of the salon. The colors of the salon are warm, the energy is positive and it is a great place to work. My coworkers are each unique in their own way, and are inspiring to everyone around them...we are a team. I find myself reaching creative levels with my work daily. Our boss Jasmine has created a SOHO, East Village vibe, which makes it fun to work everyday!

What is Unite in Fashion and how did you become the founder of this organization?
I began Unite in Fashion in 2005. My friend Lauren and I wanted to help out when the tsunami hit, and we created Unite to raise money through fashion, music and art. Unite became a concept and a company. We plan to keep on planning events annually, and grow bigger and better each time.

Where do you get inspired in styling someone?
Culture has always been important to me. I love to see what's going on around the world in fashion. Inspiration comes from within as well. When you feel good about yourself, it will shine through in your work.

Who would you most want to style?
People that are not afraid to step out of the box and try something new.

What is the next UIF event and how can people help?
Unite will be pairing with FM World Charities to join forces and create an event to benefit the soldiers in Iraq. Anyone that would like to get involved please visit out website to stay updated.

What is the craziest look you've ever done?
I have to say, it was a long time ago, i was in a hair contest and made my friend Megan look like a futuristic rockstar. We had limited funds so we used a lot of tin foil and silver paint! It was hystercical. Ithink we came in 3rd (LOL)!

What other types of events do you do styling for?
Anything that comes my way. My next event I'm looking forward to is the Anti-Mag showcase with the ladies of SugarShack.

Favorite commercial.
Considering i never watch tv, i think the commercial that sticks out in my mind is the one with the numbers as the song, 877 393 4448. My friend and I do a dance to it if its on (LOL)
