The idea for Anti-Mag came from me being unemployed for the first couple
of months of living in New York. It was actually my mother who woke me
up to the calling. She said, "I always thought you'd be a writer...".
That freaked me out because my mother never had an opinion on my career
choices until that moment. So, that day, I picked up a pen and I started
writing.I got the idea for Anti-Mag because of my love for men's magazines. I like the frankness and realness of men's magazines. I'm a girl who likes gadgets, playing cards, appreciating a good whiskey and talking about world events...none of these things exist in Cosmo or Mademoiselle unless your idea of a gadget is a vibrator and your idea of playing cards is Go Fish and I'm not a fem nazi either. I appreciate all that is human both male and female and I like the balance of the two.
Anti-Mag is an online magazine chockful of fun facts for the "real person" as well as my love for music, sensible art, and the vibrant lifestyles of my generation. Anti-Mag will introduce you to people you'll meet at your local dive or it'll introduce you to the next big thing. Anti-Mag will expose you to the people and things you may have dismissed.
Anti-Mag doesn't choose sides nor will it make any apologies for it's views, I will however try to provide enlightenment and awareness to those I come in contact with. I hope that with this online 'zine I will get people exposed and give them the light they deserve. You may like it, you may not, but I've said what I needed to and the only person I need to satisfy is myself.
